Calculator inputs
Calculator math runs in your browser. Equipment Rate Calc does not receive calculator inputs. Selecting Save stores a limited number of scenarios in localStorage on that device. Resetting browser storage or using a private session may remove them.
Selecting Share places inputs in the URL hash. Hash values are normally not sent to the web server, but they are visible to anyone who receives the link and may be retained in browser history, screenshots, clipboard history, messaging tools, or other software. Do not include information you consider sensitive.
Downloaded quotes
Download Quote creates an HTML file locally in the browser from the visible inputs and results. The file is not uploaded to Equipment Rate Calc. You control where it is stored, copied, printed, or converted to PDF.
Contact form and email
The optional feedback form is processed by Netlify Forms. Submitted name, email, page, feedback type, message, technical request information, and Netlify's associated service data may be stored in the site's Netlify account. Direct email is processed by the email providers used by the sender and recipient.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 does not load until you select Allow analytics. If you decline, Equipment Rate Calc does not request the Google Analytics script or set its analytics cookies. You can review or change the choice at any time with the Analytics choices control in the footer.
When allowed, analytics can record the page path, referring site, browser and device category, an approximate region derived by Google, and controlled interaction labels. Measurements include page visits, scrolling, outbound links, spreadsheet downloads, calculator starts and completions, generated estimate downloads, task and directory selections, and successful feedback-form submissions.
Calculator inputs and results, saved scenarios, values in shared-link hashes, feedback-form contents, names, email addresses, messages, and phrases typed into the calculator directory search are excluded from these analytics events. Page locations sent to Google omit the URL hash and reject unapproved query parameters.
Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. The first-party Google Analytics browser identifier is configured to expire after 12 months without extending on later visits, and event-level analytics data may be retained for up to 14 months. See Google's Privacy Policy for its service practices.
Equipment Rate Calc does not currently display ads, publish affiliate links, process payments, run a newsletter, or require paid downloads. If affiliate links are introduced, they will be identified and covered by an updated disclosure before activation.
Security and retention
The site uses HTTPS, restrictive browser security headers, and no server-side calculator database. The Google Analytics script is the only optional third-party measurement script and is requested only after consent. Feedback should be retained only as long as needed to respond, correct the site, and meet legitimate operational or legal requirements. Do not submit secrets or sensitive customer information.

Questions or deletion requests concerning feedback submitted to the site can be sent to utilitycalcs@gmail.com. We may ask for enough information to locate the submission.
Browser storage and cookies
The theme preference, explicitly saved scenarios, and analytics choice use localStorage. They do not create an account. If analytics is allowed, Google Analytics uses first-party _ga cookies to distinguish browsers; declining or later revoking consent prevents further analytics collection and removes the site's accessible Google Analytics cookies. Netlify may process standard request and security data when it delivers the site or processes the optional form under its own service terms.
Policy changes
Before adding advertising, affiliate tracking, email capture, payments, paid downloads, accounts, cloud-saved scenarios, or materially different analytics, Equipment Rate Calc will describe the new data, purpose, provider, retention, controls, and effective date here. Material changes will be published before the affected feature is activated.
