What the site does
Each calculator exposes its inputs, formula, worked example, limitations, related tools, and relevant disclaimer. The tools do not claim to know a universal local rate and do not hide reference prices behind an unexplained result.
Calculations run in the browser. A scenario is stored only when the user selects Save. A share link places the selected inputs in the URL hash. Equipment Rate Calc does not receive those values.
Who creates the content
Content is published by the Equipment Rate Calc Editorial Team. No individual professional credential is claimed. Formula changes are reviewed for mathematical consistency, default scenarios are tested in the browser, and material revisions receive a visible update date.
Because equipment, job sites, contracts, laws, taxes, financing, and safety requirements vary, the site directs users to qualified professionals and official sources when a decision exceeds general planning math.
How corrections are handled
Send the calculator name, inputs, expected result, observed result, and supporting source to utilitycalcs@gmail.com. Reproducible calculation errors are prioritized. Content suggestions are evaluated for relevance to compact-equipment pricing and whether the site can explain the method transparently.
Why the site exists
Small jobs often lose money through unpaid loading, travel, setup, cleanup, owner time, attachments, disposal, maintenance, low utilization, and unclear scope. The site exists to turn those hidden assumptions into questions that can be checked before a quote is sent.
Design principles
The interface prioritizes the decision, primary result, and next action. Results update as values change, but Save, Share, and Download remain explicit actions. Click-only navigation supports touch, keyboard, and pointer users without menus opening unexpectedly on hover. Light and dark themes preserve the same information hierarchy and contrast targets.
The site avoids false precision by showing assumptions and limitations near the result. New calculators are added when they answer a distinct contractor decision with explainable math, not simply to create another search page.
What the site does not do
Equipment Rate Calc does not inspect job sites, locate utilities, set legal payload, certify safe operation, prepare tax returns, approve financing, review contracts, or replace current manufacturer instructions and official requirements. It does not sell user inputs or claim that default examples represent a local market.
